Queen of getting sh*t done?

Getting shi*t done!!! Where’s my ladies at here for the ‘doing’?!

You know who you are, you’re the ‘tell me what to do, and I’ll do it!’ type.

SAME! I’m fricken awesome at doing – and it’s great – I have achieved A LOT, and I’m really proud of that.

I did get tripped up by this recently, and had a crashing down to earth reminder that ‘doing’ is just one piece of the puzzle.

I got so busy doing – that for one of only a handful of times in my life, I got close to burnout.

It was sneaky!!  To be fair I know the warning signs I just ignored them…until I didn’t, and remembered I need to realign with ‘being’ if I was going to ‘have’ what I wanted…because I was heading toward an unwanted ‘have’.

So there I was ferociously ‘doing’, but out of alignment, running headlong into an outcome I didn’t want!

When your ‘doing’ is out of balance, you’re at risk for a few reasons, and it feels terrible.

  1. You might end up where you don’t want to be… or worse nowhere in particular! It’s appealing to keep busy and do,do,do. But if you haven’t stopped to think about the doing in the bigger context of who you want to be and what you want to have – well then, you’re just a hamster on a wheel.
  1. You might burn out. That’s pretty simple! There is a limit to your body and mind when the action is out of alignment. Because aligned action brings energy, the random frenetic doing drains energy, and if you don’t listen to the warning, then you’ll eventually get a big cosmic slap in the face to wake you up.
  1. You miss out on things. Moments with your family, moments of peace and joy. Sunrise? – nope I have no time for that, that thing I really want to do – oh yeah I’ll get to that later…but later never comes.  Food for thought huh?

You know what the cool thing is though? If you are really good at getting sh*it done, and you can prioritise other areas of life, you’ll get that done too – oh and once you see the benefit of aligning your being and doing you’ll be even more unstoppable than you already are…probs just feeling lighter and happier with it!
